Our products were originally founded in 1968, by a Norfolk, VA native. Later relocating to the Washington, DC area to become a school teacher. An eager young woman at the time, determined to improve and contribute to her own health and those in her community. An Activist in the 1960’s, she would endeavor to contribute to her community by attending Howard University and majoring in Human Ecology, the study of how nature and the environment together affect and benefit the well-being of humans. After herself suffering from health and skin ailments, she began utilizing and creating herbal remedies combined with good nutrition, to improve her health and skin. In order to fully embrace her Heritage and new natural lifestyle, she also decided to transition to wearing her hair in a “Natural”, teaching her little girl that her hair was also beautiful in it’s natural state!

She traveled the world to research and learn more about her heritage and those naturally occurring resources and incorporated them into her unique, all-natural concoctions. Using them herself and giving them away to others for their benefit. Her desire to help others was a genuine labor of love. Though her efforts would have far reaching influence on the natural hair & skin care industry, she maintained a disposition of extreme humility, quietly helping countless persons worldwide. A true pioneer in the natural hair & skin care community!
